Skype, Text, FB and the rest
This month I have been blessed to talk on a more regular basis with one of my absolute dearest friends Louise who lives in Connecticut. Our friendship is one where if we don't talk for years we can hear one another on the other end of the phone and just pick up where we left off. It is great to have people in my life like that! Just this past week my absolute favorite daughter in law, Merica returned to the Facebook scene. She said she had taken a break because she felt she was becoming a FB Junkie. Louise refuses to text or FB and is a sender of cards instead, and a great conversationalist on the phone. She does not like the newer age of technology when it comes to personal friendships and conversations. Merica, on the other hand, will send me pictures of things through text messaging just because she knows how happy it makes me and I LOVE it! A random picture of Aaron taking a power nap with the dogs, a quick pic of her new Texas license plate for the car and just this past week her official Texas drivers license, with of course the occasional " I miss you" and "I love you" thrown in for good measure. Don't get me wrong Mers still calls, but she utilizes the other forms of "staying in touch" too. Cards, phone calls, text messages, and FB are all ways I can stay connected with friends and family and I will take the connection any way I can get it. I love the phone calls I get, the cards from Louise, letters from Tay...I love the pictures from Merica, Abby ( baby Lincoln is amazing!), Aaron, and Abbey, or the quick texts of which Ally is the absolute queen of few words! I love the updates on Facebook so that I know what my nieces and nephews are up to and I can tell them I am thinking of them. Family is so important. I love you all and miss you tons when you are not close enough for a hug. OH AND SKYPE...I CAN'T WAIT TO SKYPE! But wait...Do I really want Aaron and Mers to see how fat I have become in their absence? :-)

Hello, I just had to drop in and say thank you for "coming out of the shadows" and leaving a comment on my blog. I do wonder who all those anonymous folks are who read my blog and it's nice to meet them when they make themselves known.
ReplyDeleteFirst, I love the name of your blog! Seaglass and Sunshine — two of my favorite things.
I love sharing on FB with my family and a few close friends, it's a great way to get to see all the latest photos and family news. You're going to LOVE Skype! I just imagine I'm sitting at the kitchen table chatting away with those near and dear to my heart.
Well now honey, you just drop on by The Hut anytime for a little beachiness. I've lived on the Pacific, the Gulf and now the Atlantic and could never imagine being landlocked, but I'm sure you have some beautiful scenery where you are. I've been to Utah and have seen the wonders there and hope to return one day to see it without snow. The snow is gorgeous, but I want to see what's underneath!
btw, the proposal? Wow! Loved it!
